Parents for Climate are holding a free community Adult Clothes and Book Swap as part of the Love Lawson Festival.
It’s a fabulous opportunity to clear out your cupboards, refresh your wardrobe and exchange your excess books for some new reading treasures.
Bring if you can:
👕 Up to 10 clean, good-quality adult clothing items – all genders welcome
👟 Shoes and accessories
📚 Up to 10 good-quality books
Community swaps are a simple way to save money, reduce waste, give good things another life and keep useful resources circulating locally.

Parents for Climate
Parents for Climate are a local group of parents, carers, families and community members organising on unceded Dharug and Gundungurra lands for a safer climate and stronger, more connected communities.
Their work is grounded in reuse, community care and mutual aid. Through regular clothes and toy swaps, repair, remake and upcycling activities, sharing and other community events, they create practical ways for people to support one another, reduce waste, ease cost-of-living pressures and keep useful things circulating locally.
The group is also working to step away from overconsumption and extractive ways of living, and to rethink how communities meet their needs. They want children to grow up seeing sharing, swapping, repairing, remaking, reusing and caring for what they already have as normal parts of everyday life, while learning ways of living that care for people and the planet.
Their swaps and other activities also help build community resilience. As the climate crisis intensifies, they believe communities need to be connected, resourceful and able to care for one another. Resilience is not only about preparing homes and infrastructure, but also about knowing neighbours, sharing resources, building trust, learning practical skills and strengthening the collective capacity to respond.
Alongside this work, the group campaigns for stronger climate action, engages with decision makers and creates accessible, family-friendly ways for people to participate in change.
