Started, 20 years ago, in 2006, it was formed to bring people together after many concerns about the changes to the Lawson village including the highway widening. It continued in a variety of ways until 2020, supported by the Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre.<\/p>

Why a festival?<\/strong><\/p>

Because community matters. In a time when the wider world can feel tough and disconnected, this is a chance to focus local\u2014on connection, creativity, and supporting one another.<\/p>

We\u2019re hoping to:<\/p>

  • Celebrate what we love about living in Lawson<\/li>
  • Give young people things to do and showcase their talents<\/li>
  • Support and promote local businesses<\/li>
  • Celebrate local performers and artists<\/li>
  • Connect with First Nations people and their knowledge of this area<\/li>
  • Celebrate the cultural diversity of the Mountains Community<\/li>
  • Celebrate the magnificent environment around Lawson<\/li>
  • Share places for citizen science, nature, picnics, turtles \ud83d\udc22 and frogs \ud83d\udc38)<\/li>
  • Bring together sports clubs, volunteers, and community groups<\/li>
  • Share local history (including the mystery of Christmas Swamp!)<\/li>
  • Strengthen connection and reduce isolation<\/li><\/ul>
